Roughly half of the cost of an employee is the salary they are paid.
Most of the rest of it is for the "fringe benefits" that the employee gets.
The least predictable, and most expensive part of the "fringe benefits"
that an employer offers, is medical benefits. The real irony is that in
most instances the employee would have a "better" health plan if the
employer simply gave them the cash to get an individual plan.
