No, that was TEAM whose kingpins went toppling a few months baack.
LTD is headed by Larry Winters.
And yeah, LTD stands for "Leadership Team Development" but when you
listen to their training CDs, it stands for Learnable, Teachable,
Duplicatable. After all, in order to be successful, you must mold
yourself to be your uplines' clone and teach your downline to do the
same! I was in LTD, and like other AMOs (Amway Motivational
Organizations)
really fell in love with my upline's team the first time I met them at
a function -they really are good people, great character, integrity,
etc...And that's how people get attracted. They see what good people
are involved, not realizing that it's not the great business
opportunity that is advertised.
Your friend sounds just like my brother. What drives me crazy is when
I try to tell him something and he says, "Well, I'm not going to
listen to you because you're not a millionaire. You can't learn how to
be rich from a broke person, you can only learn to be broke. I'd
rather follow Larry Winters (or some other Diamond) because the only
way to learn to be successful is from a successful person."
So yeah, just be really sweet with your friend, stay supportive, but
you don't have to buy her products. If she offers to buy you a ticket
to a function (there's one coming up soon that my brother is
attending) then go if you can. That gives you more credibility with
her. I went to my first function and I thought it was an incredible
waste of time. It didn't live up to the hype, it was just one huge
pep rally. The only one thing I liked about it was meeting my team.
A weird thing I found was that my brother had a very high reverance
for Larry Winters. He says he wants to go Diamond just so he can ask
Larry about certain philosophical questions that come up in my
discussions with him. He says, "I wonder what Larry Winters would
think of that?" So yeah, you have quite a ride ahead of you! Hold on
tight and be patient. Like others have stated, the easiest way to
help your friend break the spell is to ask questions that force them
to think, and avoid antagonizing her.
