Re: [MLM Survivors Club] Does this sound familiar?

If this person is talking about Arbonne (which is mentioned in the ad), I don't buy it (literally, as well as figuratively)!

I can't speak from a business perspective, because I have never actually been with the Arbonne company, but I CAN tell you that they do have ingredients in their products that are carcinogenic. I'm kind of a chemical freak, so I tend to research the ingredients in most products I purchase for my family/home.

So, although they tout their product as being "botanically based", that term actually doesn't mean crap, and I tend to be leary of companies that say they have "natural" or "botanical" products and them find out that it's just a misleading statement; it makes me wonder about ALL of their business practices.

If you ask for a product ingredient listing for even their basic products, and search them, you'll find that there are several components in their products that are carcinogenic (meaning: cancer causing) or have carcinogenic compounds. Especially with products that contain sunscreen...which, by the way, most sunscreen products do contain carcinogenic chemicals, so to me, it's like choosing the lesser of two evils when you wear sunscreen of any brand; do I want to get cancer from the sun, or do I want to get cancer from the sunscreen that I am wearing to keep me from getting cancer from the sun?). By the way, this doesn't just relate to Arbonne products...these carcinogenics are in many basic household chemicals, personal use items, and cleaning products/dish detergents/laundry stuff, etc.. Sorry...I'll get off my soapbox (pardon the pun) now.

Anyway, as far as the company (as an MLM) is concerned, check the MLM truth website; you'll see that Arbonne is included as one of the many companies that are considered "red flag" companies. I have seen several posts here from prior Arbonne reps. Maybe one of them can tell you more about it from a business standpoint, or look back at past posts.
