I joined with "The Online System" by clicking on an ad that took me
to a website that enticed you to take a tour and then buy a decision
pack for $39.95 plus $9.00 shipping. Once you receive the decision
pack, you are then strongly encouraged to purchase a month's worth
of products plus the distributor materials for $399.00. Then you
are told to purchase 4000 volume points of product to get your
business off to a fast start and this is at a 42% discount which
costs around $2500.00. Then you are told to sign up for a website
that costs $125.00 plus an additional $50.00 for the credit card
processing part of the website.
Then you are encouraged to purchase a "wheel slot" which gives you 4
to 6 people who have already gone to the advertised website and
purchased a "decision pack" and you are given their name.
The "wheel slot" costs $500.00. You are told, since those starting
their business don't know how to advertise effectively on the
internet yet, this is the way to get your business up and running
quick. To send them a "decision pack," you have to purchase these at
a cost of $180.00 plus shipping for 10 sets which amounts to $25.00
per decision pack. This would give you a profit of $25.00 per
pack. WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW: I didn't get reimbursed for the first 6
decision packs I sent out so that cost me $150.00. The people
running this program used the money they got from these purchases
for more advertising. I did get reimbursed on future "wheel
slots." THIS FIRST WHEEL SLOT COST ME $650.00.
Now to how I made money. You read from a script when you call these
people as a follow-up to sending them the decision pack. I was
lucky enough to sign up one person the first wheel slot so after
spending $650.00 (as shown above), he purchased one month's worth of
products and distributor materials for $399.00. I had bought all
this stuff in my 4000 volume point order so just getting my money
back, no profit their. He then went on to buy the 4000 volume point
order which gave me a commission of $330.24.
Let's add up my total spent so far and commission earned. It was
$48.95 for the decision pack. $399.00 for one month's product and
distributor materials, $125.00 for the website plus $50.00 for
credit card processing and $650.00 for a wheel slot with decision
packs sent. All that comes to $1272.95. Now, I'll be honest and
subtract the one month's product I personally used which comes to
$280.00. So this new total is $992.95 and commission earned is
$330.24 so net loss is $662.71. I was stupid enough to continue
with this system and went on to lose a total of $2700.00 by the time
I quit.
I have nothing agaist the Herbalife company but "The Online System"
is nothing but a money loser!
