Technically the guest speakers do make the money, but it's a circle. I
speak for you, you speak at Fred's function, Fred speaks at Tom's
function, Tom speaks at Jerry's function, Jerry speaks at Gilligan's
function, Gilligan speaks at Ellie May's function, and Ellie May and
her Uncle Jed speak at my function. The guest speakers make the money,
but since they're all speaking for each other in a mutual admiration
society, they all get wealthy on those that can't afford to spend the
money.

A point here: my ex-gf is, technically, a genius. I asked her about the
money and her eyes got wide in worshipful adoration and said, "Oh, but
those places are expensive. They're not making any money on them!"
