I agree with a lot of the responses you've gotten. I would definitely contact a
lawyer and find out what options you have. I would save every phone
message, every email...and as mentioned, keep a journal of every thing that
happens and when.
I'm so sorry you have to be going through this and so sorry your daughter
and granddaughter are mixed up in it. I truly hope that it will all end well and
will be sending good thoughts your way.
