RE: [MLM Survivors Club] Re: Melalueca

Hello Tammy,
Just a couple of points I would like to bring up. I know you are getting your ass whupped in here but I have to believe you had an idea of what to expect. My pa always said if you rile up a hornets nest, you will get stung.
I took you to mean that you favored the MLM model as you talked so highly of it. Also, everyone gets told when they join that there are some files to be read, and a person should be prepared. I was told that if I was going to say something, I had to back it up with facts, not fancy words and posturing. No disrespect intended but the rules apply to everyone, just usually pro MLMers usually make overinflated and outrageous claims, usually with no proof. I have been here on this board for awhile and I have seen many people come here and try to prove us wrong. People like Hal, Deb and P.W have been here longer and seen way more. We are here to help people who have been wronged in horrible ways. This group is not pro-mlm. We will give people who favour mlm a voice, but you have to have facts. We can back up what we say. Most pro mlm people come on this board call us negative losers, run us down for "dream stealing", and then have the nerve to tell us they don't owe us answers or hard facts when we challenge their claims. Any branch of the better business bureau will tell consumers to get statements of fact in writing first. If some one wants to tell me something, let them prove it. I don't feel that is insulting. In my business people get written quotes from me all the time. I have no problem putting in writing anything I say relating to my business. Legitimate businesses should always be willing to put stuff in writing when asked to. When I franchise a shop I disclose all information relating to the business. Sales, expenses, margins, everything. That way I know I am backing up everything I say. More importantly, the people that I am asking to put their time, money and effort into my business know what they are getting into, as much as market conditions allow for at the time. I have never heard of an mlm based business or I.B.O or whatever they want to call themselves do that. They will claim huge incomes and great lifestyles but will never show you proof in black and white. I believe you said you have been in MLM for 20+ years. If this business model is successful and you are doing so well, all we are asking for is proof. I believe P.W. has a little challenge in one of the files. I am sure he would be happy to assist you with that challenge if you asked him too. We are not here to stomp people but we will hold people accountable for their claims. I expect that if this thread continues in this way you might be looking at a little more whuppin headed your way, but by all means you are more than welcome to prove what you are saying, I just don't think you can.
Take care

Tyler

The HUGE problem with all of this response, (long laundry list of problemsactually) is that you are responding as if you were HIRED to be an EMPLOYEE.That is totally wrong. No, the you are not hired. You an independentcontractor....that is the big LIE of MLM haters - that you are an employeethat is hired and therefore you deserve some kind of 'favors' as it were. And for the record. NO, this was not a sales pitch and NO I am not talkingabout training materials at all. But rather the right people to learn fromthat are doing it correctly. It's a paradigm shift. You guys are so set that this is a 'sales pitch' and that I am PRO-MLM thatyou are only twisting around my words and coming to your own conclusionsthat fit you way of thinking. Thanks for that. Maybe you should try askinginstead of assuming....and we all know what assuming does, right?_____ From: mlmsurvivorsclub@yahoogroups.com[mailto:mlmsurvivorsclub@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of sdw921@comcast.netSent: Friday, January 04, 2008 8:56 AMTo: mlmsurvivorsclub@yahoogroups.comSubject: Re: [MLM Survivors Club] Re: MelaluecaHal,I 100% agree with everything you said and you did such a good job saying it(as always). I just wanted to say that I read the beginning of this post alittle bit different than you did:> > Answer me this:> > What kind of business do you think you can get into that requires you > > to do nothing, buy nothing, invest nothing, no training, and then > > earn money?Your take on it:> This is the start of the sales pitch. While it's not a promise, it's an > implied promise. It starts with saying you need nothing to start (I > call it the Sgt. Schultz speech. "I know nothing, I see nothing...") > It basically says anyone can do it without effort, without special > skills, training or knowledge. Let's hang a big red flag on this and > look at it later, okay?My take on it is that it is, indeed, a sales pitch. But, to me it seems tobe a pitch for the training materials and seminars that all MLMs require youto invest in. This is a very typical lead in for all of the "non-products"they always want you to buy and an attempt to justify it. I just want to sayto this poster that every time a company has hired me to do a job thatrequired training, "they" paid "ME" to be trained, not the other way around. And these pitches do deserve a big red flag!Very good job breaking this post down, Hal.Happy New Year![Non-text portions of this message have been removed][Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
