Re: Equinox class action lawsuit
Carlos :
I'm glad to see you left the 'opportunity' with your shirt on your
back....
If anybody with half a brain heeds common sense they should take some
advise from someone not so smart and tried to pursue the MLM illusion
and found the hard way to make money and the easy way to lose it.
I've tried 3 different MLM's with the same results: taking a bath
with money we couldn't afford to throw away. Our latest venture was
with EQUINOX in Nov. '95 and the nightmare lasted almost 2yrs.
Between the endless seminars between Providence and Vegas, the
hundreds of miles by car to meet with 'prospects'(
to the presentations)
build the business my wife and I spent thousands !!
My experience with MLM stretches back to early 1980 with AMWAY with
about 3 months of non-sales, non-salesforce attempts. Then tried
again with AMWAY in '87 with the coaxing of friends. Again several
months of recruiting attempts with no interest from others. *flop*
Then tried again with PRIMERICA in the summer of '93. I found I was
alienating my friends and co workers from my day job.
Then the knockout punch with EQUINOX ....
Needless to say, Carlos I did make several honest attempts to try to
make the system work and with the help of my wife I wasn't making
these attempts alone. As a matter of fact with my wifes' experience
in sales/retail And my knowedge of the line of products I thought we
had the tools for success in this industry. The public consumer just
isn't ready for this type of business with their neighbor !!
I hope those who read this little blog comes to realize that the real
money in MLM goes to those who start the business and reaps the
rewards from the toil and effort of their 'downline' that often get
shafted with the spending of their own money instead of moving the
product to the consumer who won't buy floor cleaner at triple the
cost of Mr. Clean.
LET'S BE REASONABLE, MLM ADVOCATES !!
If you're the .01% of the successful reps you can't expect your best
friend to have the same successful, thriving distributor business
you've enjoyed ? The idea of this business is that everyone who gets
locked into the system as a sales rep finds him/herself quitting
their job and finds equal or better monetary success in the MLM
business. Right? Is the concept of MLM so alluring that
surgeons/lawyers/
to sell shampoo?? (I've seen those people, too !!) Isn't that what
we want for ALL our friends/family/
This concept is noble but not realistic. We need to get a grip and
take our heads out of our..... clouds
Hey, if I want to buy that $11.00 bottle of furniture polish from my
neighbor so he/she can get sales commision for his/her effort, it's
my money and that's my decision. That will be my small part in
helping him/her make it in MLM. But I'll keep my ass out of the
system... thank you !
