Technically it's possible it is taught in major universities, but not in
the way the MLMers want it to be taught. It's quite possible that MLM
is taught as a sample of non-functioning marketing structures.
I remember that was one point made in one management text I checked on.
MLMers claim, "This type of network marketing is taught in this book on
page xxx." If you can check, you find it's taught -- as an example of
what NOT to do.
As you say, nobody checks on it so nobody knows what's really said.
