man after my own heart! You are absolutly right! I can't disagree
with anything. I do that currently and I do it quite well. I am a
broker for a living. I know that MLM's do make money because I have a
few very well to do clients from them. I joined because I had the
extra money to take a chance. So far so good. There must be some
terrible companies out there! May be I am in one. I don't know. I
haven't heard anything valid indicating I should run the other way.

I have read these reply's for the last 45 minutes. I have to say how
disappointed I am. I did not join this group to recruit. I don't care
if you removed my link for potential benefit of personal hits. I
don't think that after reading any of these replies that anyone would
even think about joining a MLM program. My intention was to seek
advice, so far I have found none. I have found bitter individuals
that I have empathy for. I have made money at this and I am sure that
there is someone on this site that has done the same. I did read the
rules of this group before joining this site. I have not broken any!
I am not here to recruit. I am here for the reason I stated before. I
am green and was wanting advice on how to make the most of what I am
in. I do feel sorry that you have not had the best experience with
MLM. Some of the replies almost sound suicidal. As I stated before
this is my first rodeo with this I have invested 195.00 to start. I
received 210.00 worth of suckers to sell and give away. I
automatically made by day 3 172.00 back just selling them. I
recruited two people who have done the same. I am getting matching,
volume pay (that doesn't flush) and fast start pay. I have invested
maybe 5 hours per week in the last 5 1/2 weeks. I have gotten 3
checks for the amount of 48.00, 159.00, and 266.00 the last 3 weeks.
I have used maybe 20.00 of my stock. I do reorder suckers as I run
out. So far I haven't! I wanted to see how it was going to go before
I stocked myself. I hope this has provided enough information to
answer ther questions you had. Because I don't remember asking you
anything about money. I asked how do I become sucessful at MLM's and
some of the no no's to this business.

I am green. I will accept advice that is realistic. I just thought
that out of all the members on this board there was someone already
in, or out of Fun Unlimited that would comment. That was part of my
original question. I am sure there is someone that can answer this.

I think the following items will really help you.

1. Check (again)what the purpose(s) of this forum is(are) - I think PW
sends 2 e-mails to all new members about the purpose of this forum.
Helping people get over technical problems(like finding a broker or
your upline) while in an MLM is certainly not it.

2. A good English grammar book.

cheers

IMHO, you couldn't be more wrong.

Joining up with the "right" team, being able to accept rejection and having
good timing have little to do with MLM success. Neither does hard work, a
good business sense or loving your product. If it were that easy, wouldn't
more people be successful?

People fail at MLMs because that is how they are set up. Less than
2% of those who get involved in MLMs making ANY money at all. What are
the chances of you being in that 2%? What traits does one have to have to
skip on over the other 98% who will fail at MLMs? I personally think luck
has a lot to do with it. Be sure to check out the "marketing math" in the files
section for an eye opener.

IME, MLMs are still alive today ONLY because of the 98% failure rate.
Because a portion of that 98% are still loyal to their MLM company and will
continue to place their product qualifying orders each month in hopes of
becoming part of that 2%. These are the people who are padding YOUR
paychecks. They've been convinced by someone that the extra monthly
money needed for the order placement, that is putting them further in debt
will eventually provide them with financial freedom. It won't. It will only get
them further in debt.

I still feel horrible about pushing those "amazing products that everyone
needs immediately" on people who actually liked me, believed me and
trusted me. People who didn't even have enough money for a credit card
but were applying for them JUST to buy my products and start a business
that could free them from their financial burdens. It makes me sick to my
stomach. I didn't know then what I know now and can only try to make
amends by sharing here with others that you just don't want to go there
(MLM)...just don't. It's not worth it...even if you make some cash (which I
did)...its at other people's expense.

Yes, But not if your mind is into financial planning!! ;)

Lastly, I don't want to assume that you are pitching Primerica - which
is not popular on this forum, but why don't you tell us your
background and experience in financial planning so that we can at
least get an insight into your expertise ? Something like a Wharton
MBA would go a long way towards that(Not that we will believe for a
minute that you are indeed a wharton mba). Otherwise your flippant
endorsement of Primerica will only make you sound ignorant.

Re: [MLM Survivors Club] has anyone heard of fun unlimited?

Like all other MLM programs it will all depend on how good you are in
accepting rejection, timing and also on the team you're joining. I
know a couple of people in primerica. 1 is actually successful and she
is only 24 years old. My Sister-in-law and 2 other friends joined her
team and was disapointed because their offer was rejected by their
close relatives and friends including us because we already have
financial planning in place and are not keen on changing planner with a
newbee. Anyway, we let them practice with us but when we don't sign up
they immediately stopped and say that it is too hard to succeed in
Primerica.

I could say that if your heart is into financial planning then
Primerica is a good company.

This would indicate to me that there are ongoing expenses associated
with your business and that you've exceeded those expenses at least 3
times so far. You haven't given us a clue as to what those expenses
might be or by how much you exceeded them. You also have not given us
a clue as to whether or not your expenses were exceeded by
products/services YOU purchased for personal use. You haven't offered
any information about how much effort it took for you to break even.

There's a lot you haven't told us, and it's difficult to give you much
valid advice when you are not forthcoming with your current situation.

Having said that...

This is not a group that is likely to offer you advice on how to
succeed at MLM. If you are succeeding at it, you do not need our
help. If you are not succeeding at it, then you may be among the
large group of people who are or will become "survivors." This group
consists of people who are ex-MLMers or are associated with someone
who is or was involved in an MLM. The prevailing assumption about MLM
in this group is that it causes much more harm than good, even if a
handful of individuals may be making money at it.

The reason your post was permitted into the group is that I think
people like you need to hear from people who have been through the MLM
mill. They did the work but did not reap the reward, or they might
have made some money at it but realized they were hurting others in
the process.

You NEED to hear from people like us. You NEED to know we exist and
that our opinions are valid. You NEED to know how to avoid the
pitfalls that we experienced for ourselves. If our collective wisdom
can prevent you from going through what we went through, then we will
have accomplished our purpose.

If you ignore what we are saying, it will be at your own risk. And if
you are trying to use this forum as a recruiting ground, you will not
be permitted to stay here. I have removed your ID from the link in
your original post so that you could hear what we have to say without
gaining the potential benefit of personal hits to your site.

Read the rules and the other materials that were sent to you upon
joining this group before you post again. The rules are strict, and
in some cases, we have zero-tolerance rules that are enforced without
"second chances."

[MLM Survivors Club] Re: Just a question about financial planning

I recently attended a Primerica seminar and follow-up.

Ask him about the outrageous claim that Primerica reps were paid a
total of over $600 million dollars last year.

And ask him to put in writing the 'promise' that they will front
several hundred dollars on your behalf for licensing costs.

That's right, you heard it, Primerica claims to have paid out, in cold
cash compensation over $600 million dollars.

I know MLMs sometimes make incredible claims, how can they get away
with making such a claim?

[MLM Survivors Club] Re: has anyone heard of fun unlimited?

Okay, I bit, I went and looked at your site and all I have to say
is, "You've Got To Be Kidding!" Pushing lollipops as a a healthy
choice? Here is a tip on eating healthy, dump the lollipops then eat
a healthy well-bablanced diet. I also did a quick price comparison
and as ALL MLM's the prices are jaw-dropping astronomical, for example:

skin conditioner $20 Burt's Bee's $12
night creme $28 Burt's Bee's $12
moisturizer $22 Burt's Bee's $12

500 cnt business cards $43 var other web sites 500 cnt $15-$26
1000 cnt business cards $64 var other web sites 1000cnt $20-$34

And

30 cnt bag of (nutritional?)lollipops $28.95 !?!? actually I think
sucker is more descriptive.

Good Luck selling this crap!

In comparison to that all I can say is that a fool and their money is
soon parted.

Actually, I'll be glad to tell her how to be successful. It's quite
simple: Get out of that MLM and find a good job that you can enjoy
working at, or take a few weeks to figure out what you want to do with
your own business, work hard, save your money, after you've got about 2
months expenses in the savings account, save up more to use for
investing. That's what my Father did and he died a multi-millionaire,
all based on money he earned in the Navy during WWII and money from his
regular work salary that he invested and watched.
