What worked with my daughter was when she realized one day that she was getting so deep in debt she was at risk for losing everything she had (and she entered into an "agreement" with me). That was the turning point. Then when she decided to go "inactive" how none of those people who were her "best friends" would even have anything to do with her anymore. That was it. She's out now and she won't be back.
