Aw, shucks!
But, then again, I am free this Friday night! ;-)

Seriously, I try. The problem is I deal with large amounts of e-mail
and programming work daily. A few years ago I finally had to make a
rule: no re-reading or editing e-mail except under special conditions.
If I edited, I could be much more succinct, but then it would take me,
literally, 5-10 times more time per email. Here's an example: The
first script I sent in anywhere was to Star Trek: The Next Generation
(and they loved it but couldn't use it because it was too close to what
they were already going to do). It took me a week to write the 55 page
script. Then I had to prepare a 1 page or less summary of the story.
I started with something like 3 pages, but it took me longer to cut
that to 1 page than it took to write the entire 55 page script!
I wish I could spend more time editing. My e-mails would be much
shorter, but then I'd never get any work done for my business.
Hal
