> Curious to why the name change from QUIXTAR to Amway?
These are JUST my opinions;
I always believed that Amway was broken up into smaller corporations
to ease the tax burden when Jay and Rich passed on; furthermore,
Quixtar was the "new way" of doing Amway in N America by utilizing the
internet. I'm sure the Kingpins were overjoyed to get away from a
name (Amway) that they had brought so much disgrace to.....
But since the majority of the world is doing business via the
internet, "Quixtar" isn't unique. And the internet easily traces it
back to its Amway origins, anyway.
I see taking back the "Amway" name as a way for the Corporation to
finally flex their muscles and claim their company. A few of their
international markets have been threatened recently by various
governmental regulatory agencies for the way the business was being
conducted; and Amway sees that they need to rein in the Kingpins or
face expulsion from these (and potentially more) markets?? Heck, some
of the stuff being taught be the AMOs was going to get Amway in
trouble here in the US with the FTC.
It's the first time in decades that the Corporation has really stood
up to the AMOs - and I'm pretty darn excited about that idea!!!!!!!!
