It is voice over internet but it uses your existing home phone and the
wiring in your house. You use thier modem which is encrypted with
your existing home phone number. You then just plug it into your
router/cable internet modem and then you plug a phone line into the
wall jack of your home phone line. This way you can talk on any phone
in your house and you don't have to use the computer. Also, you can
take the VIO modem with you and plug it into any ethernet connection
(such as a hotel room) and talk on your home phone in another city
with out any long distance. Its pretty cool.
