Hi,
The reason I said giving that kind of gift is wrong, is that the giver in this case was expecting something back. Praise for the product, and a hopes that she would get another client out of it. That's what is wrong here. I was just raised old fashioned. If you give a gift don't expect something back or tie anything like a sales pitch into it. Just not cool after something major like surgery, poor taste. Just my opinion. I have been on both sides of this coin.
