Actually, my mom was not part of arbonne but another mlm. The tactics are pretty much the same. Yes guilt is a huge factor in her uplines attempt to get my parents money. A very common saying was "How far will you set your business back" or "Do you want to teach your kids to only give 50% effort in life to achieve their goals" and crap like that. Please remember that in their world it is literally her against the world. She is being told about how everyone is just waiting for her to fail and be a "loser" like them. It's tough.
My mom is no longer in the mlm she was with. Apparently there are some things happening etc. It's a sad tale for another time. Take care
