It does seem contradictory doesn't it ?
My opinion from watching a Nikken dist. family from up close is - Its
an extension of the "fake it till you make it" phenomenon. The key
phrases I hear over and over are - 1. How good the people (especially)
higher up are - basically you work with the "best" people.
2. "Its the most ethical business" - apparently because you have
dedicated your life to "helping" people. So naturally, you would feel
great listening to a CD by such "enlightened" people that have your
best interests at heart.
I guess the strong belief that the MLM will take you away from all
your daily problems into the valley of the sun contributes to that as
well.
I was once handed a DVD put out by some sleazebag from Utah that
actually coaches people on how to get past skeptical prospects'
objections.(
there - This week he is doing a call on how to get past the scenario
where your skeptical prospect asks - "so if this is so good, how much
are you making ?" - I am not kidding - thats how low they get). When
I hear him talk, I feel like I need to shower.
But apparently, a lot of MLM folk lap it up. So don't be surprised if
your friend is not able to see the TEAM CD the same way you do.
As for your last question, I don't think it helps - its rather like
how an aspirin can take away your pain, but if you have to take one
every day, it's hiding a problem that can do serious damage later if
not addressed. Good luck!!
