Good sales training can be applied in all aspects of one's life.
Some of the motivational training is useful/good.
The abuse by MLMs, and motivational organizations, is;
* The expectation/
book/cd/video/
* The failure of the upline/organizer/
individual, by going thru the material with the individual;
By way of example.
* _The New Oxford Annotated Bible With the Apocrypha_ ( NOAB) is
intended for academic use, and its textual notes are for that purpose;
* _The Life Application Study Bible_ (LASB) is intended for people who
don't know the Bible, and want to better understand it. It's notes, etc
are designed to explain/illuminate points made within the text.
* The Gideon's Bible lacks textual apparatus, study notes, and the like.
This is designed for those who either want to read the Bible as a
novel, or merely want to reread a favourite passage when they don't have
their personal Bible with them.
The MLM Motivational Organizations are akin to giving you a copy of the
Gideon's Bible every week.
A Trainer is akin holding a Bible Study once a week, with another person
using the NOAB, and you using the LASB. You both work through the text,
covering both the differences, and similarities in the notes for each Bible.
At the end of six months, the person who has the Bible Study will know
far more about the Bible than the person who received a Gideon's Bible
every week for six months.
(I'm using the Bible as an example here. If that usage offends, replace
it with any book that has editions similar to those described.)
