Here's where it gets hard-to-follow:
TEAM is headquartered in eastern Michigan; but they seem to be
primarily an American AMO (not much overseas activity?)
As the group has grown in numbers (my understanding is they have lots
of people; but not all that much in the way of product volume. That
says to *me* that they exist pretty much to sell the motivational end
of things) other Amway kingpins have taken notice, and joined up with
them. Keep in mind that the more "butts in seats" they offer - the
more money is put into the Kingpins' pockets. So yes, a gathering in
Portland, OR could very well be affiliated with TEAM.
There were 14 high-level IBOs who either were fired by the
Corporation, or resigned in protest. It would be safe to assume the
other 12 people had joined forces with TEAM in some way....
There's 2 entities at work here: the LOS (Line of Sponsorship) which
is how you sign up; and how the product sales volume flows. The only
way one can change their LOS is send a letter to the Amway Corp,
resigning for 6 months; then re-signing under a new IBO.
The other entity is one LOA (Line Of Affiliation) which is through an
AMO (Amway Motivational Organization)
as AMO leaders move/merge their groups with other AMOs. It gets VERY
confusing, since many IBOs do not really know their LOS; they are only
aware of their LOA since THAT'S who is "teaching" them.
A real-life example: Fred and Bernice Hansen were sponsored by my
Grandfather - they were in Grampa's LOS. But Bernice's son-in-law
was affiliated with Network 21, an AMO developed by Jim Dornan, who
was in an LOS crossline to my Grampa. Basically, Dornan got her
"tools" income; but her (millions of dollars) Amway Product Sales
volume came to us ;-)
