The way I always suggest anyone to evaluate an MLM or any businesses
that look like MLM but claim not to be is this:
Can you work side by side, hip to hip with your would-be sponsor or
mentor for a predetermined period of time, and do everything they tell
you to do to be "successful"
BEFORE you sign any papers, put up any money, buy any product or
brochure, audio tape, cd, dvd, or video.
If the answer is yes, then you will know by "doing" it if it will work
for you. If it doesnt' work for you, you have lost no money. I do
think attending meetings is very important. If you are a guest (not yet
a signed up or registered distributor, you should be a guest) the cost
should be $0.00
Going to the meetings will help you learn what questions to ask and to
get a "feel" for what other people in the business are like. You should
be able to COMPLETELY understand the Comp Plan after it 's shown to you
a few times, and you should be encouraged to ask any question that comes
to mind.
Anyone in this "mode" should also ask someone whose business sense they
trust to go to these meetings with them to help them evaluate them.
Often times questions can be generated by hearing other skeptical
questions asked. Having someone there with you that is not interested
in the business, but only wants to help you evaluate the legitimacy of
the business should also be able to judge when a question is answered
completely or side stepped and give you good advice.
