Margie,
I was crossline to Orrin and Chris we were the same pin levels for a while.
Tell your friend that if she thinks the system is optional to tell her upline that she wants to come completely off system and see what kind of help and support she'll get. Maybe then she will open her eyes

Well, that's to bad...I think it is always helpful to have the inside info that most IBO's do NOT think you have...and even though they believe it all to be forthright and honest, when you know it they way they are taught (from their particular group) you have more of a chance do battle with the double think they use.
My friend told me that the system was ok, BECAUSE it was optional. I said to her, NO, it wasn't...then I said...well, technically it is but in reality it isn't. She said, what? I said, Is success optional? You don't think, so do you? The average IBO believes that success is only possible with the system, so...you are holding two contradictory thoughts at the same time and believe both of them to be true...NOT possible. I call that double think. The tools are optional, but with out them you don't have success, and why be involved if you don't want to succeed. So then, tools are not optional.
I was in a cult until I was 33 years old, The Jehovah's Witnesses, and I know, very well, about "double think". My life was filled with it. Sad thing is she knows all about what I went through and she can't see the similarities. But the phase, "double think", is a term I have used frequently when referring to my past. When I used it to describe what she was doing, she did take note. That is why knowing the inner stuff allows you to figure out the double think ahead of time and turn it around so that they are faced with the contradictions.
If you ever do get a hold of one of those manuals, please keep me in mind. Good luck with you endeavors to free your sister, I have followed you postings about you trials with your sister. I will keep you in my prayers.
Blessings, Margie

Margie,
I wish I could do that for you, but unfortunately I don't have my own
copy. I am a non-active, openly skeptical IBO, so I am pretty sure I
am not supposed to really even look at that book. My sister went out
for awhile and I saw it and took a look, and the stuff I posted were
key things that i copied down onto a piece of paper and brought home
with me. If I ever can get a hold of one I will definitely remember
you and do anything I can to get you a copy. Anything to get someone
out!
Best wishes.
