At first, I considered offering lots of ammo for you. Then I read
some of the replies that have already been offered and went back to
re-read your request. This is what stuck out at me:
> I'm not sure where to start.
If you are unsure where to start, you will be eaten alive by the
leaders who run this meeting. You cannot take a Cliffsnotes approach
to this. You HAVE to know what you're doing.
If you go in there half-cocked and only superficially knowledgeable
about Quixtar and MLM, your defeat will serve as the glue that cements
all the other IBOs who attend that night. It will be as
counterproductive as you can imagine, and as Susan has already pointed
out, you'll probably lose your friends in the process.
In my opinion, the best course of action is to simply tell your
friends that there is enough evidence against MLM and Quixtar to doubt
the authenticity of the opportunity, and that if you have doubts, you
can be sure that anyone you would approach about it would have doubts,
too. No one really has time to fight that battle, unless he is
already indoctrinated into believing he does.
I would liken MLM to a fishing expedition: Sometimes you go out and
catch something. Sometimes you go out and catch nothing. But at all
times, a good fisherman knows what kind of bait to use and which kinds
to use. Many fishermen know how to use fish AS bait.
Don't be baited. Don't be bait.
(And if I was in a joking mood, I'd say that the MLM leaders who are
entrusted with running these meetings are master baiters. But I'm not.)
(Hey, it's April Fool's Day...)
