One thing that was said is that she was basically devoid of "empathy". Wow,
that pierced right through me. My grandma is one of the most judgemental
human beings I've ever met. She used to make her neighbors feel like garbage
because they worked full time and had 3 kids and their yard wasn't always
kept up. My grandma is a big time Mormon. I was too until I saw this side
of her which led me to investigate the church and then I got out. For that
I thank her. But no matter what you go through in life, you will not get a
comforting word out of her. You will get a "well, you should have", or "if
only you'd done this". Now that I think about it, the lack of empathy is
one of the biggest reasons I cannot be around her...well that and the "sky
is blue and the grass is green" mentality. I just can't be real around her
at all. Sigh.
I'd love to know of any other stories of how MLM's have impacted negatively
on families. Does anyone have any sites for that?
