That is better than my point, but I did take that statement and went
with it to show that, based on that statement, his/her response to me
was still way out of line. (I usually try to avoid making such
judgemental statements about whether a reply is unwarranted when the
person is replying to me, but in this case, I feel I had a right to!)

Thank you, John. I really needed to see someone else point out how
extreme that post was. It's a breath of fresh air to someone well worn
out from responding to extreme and extremely absurd posts.
