Re: [MLM Survivors Club] No defense for Pro-MLM posts here!

Dawn <<I thought that's what this group was about...a group of people
who could act as a sounding board for others who are thinking about
getting into an MLM; a group of people who would say, "My experience
with X company was..." in hopes of helping someone steer away from
that particular company because it proved to be less-than-honest.>>

I joined this group because of the description on the website. I'm
not involved in an MLM (and will never be), but my boyfriend is
involved in Quixtar. I joined because I needed help and advice for
getting my boyfriend OUT of Quixtar (and I *hope* away from MLMs in
general). I know that many people are here for the same reason.

I recently posted my thoughts on pro-MLM opinions on this board
(Message #46113). Included in that post are a list of questions that
I feel aren't really being addressed by people who are currently
active in MLMs. I will say that I have had one e-mail response from
someone addressing my MLM questions. This person provided me with
approximate earnings, expenses, and the amount of time spent each
month, in addition to other information. Getting similar information
from MLM people I know personally has been extremely difficult
(boyfriend included-although I imagine he doesn't want to tell me how
much he's spent because he knows I'm already unsure enough about his
business as it is). While I have no plans to join this MLM (and this
person in *no* way sent the e-mail for recruiting purposes), I now
have an understanding of why this person is involved. And THAT to me
is valuable pro-MLM information because it helps further my
understanding of MLMs in general, as well as the differences between
them. And may also shed some additional light on some of the reasons
my boyfriend chose to become involved.

I also will state again that I don't mind pro-MLMers in the group, but
I would hope that they would keep in mind why the majority of us are
here. Some want nothing to do with MLMs beyond pulling our loved ones
out for good, and are here for support and guidance. And that is a
standpoint that should be respected.
