This remark completely explains why you are so out-of-step with the group.
No, this is NOT a forum for exchanging ideas about MLM. There are
other groups for that. This is a group for sharing experiences
between SURVIVORS of MLM abuses. This is a forum where that sharing
can lead to healing. This is also a place in which the experiences of
its members can help people who are dealing with MLM-related issues to
understand and cope with the effects of involvement with an abusive
MLM. Frequently, this is also a place where various MLMs can be
identified and their methods examined and explained.
No, this is not a "structured 12-step-type program." It was never
intended to be. In some ways, it resembles a 12-step, but we cannot
operate that way, partly because of the web-based nature of the venue
and also because of the lack of trained professionals in charge here.
We have our expertise, but there is no such thing as licensing or
credentials for MLM recovery groups.
But you also cannot turn this group into something it is not simply
because it doesn't fit with your idea of what it should be.
So inasmuch as you've already stated that you have offered your last
post here, I would suggest that reading and refraining from comment
might be your wisest choice of action right now. There will continue
to be remarks and questions from some. That's okay. You are not
required to respond.
Once you start to read/listen without the need to respond or defend,
you may find that your interpretations change.
