Kyle, I asked the same question(s) "What do all these acronym
mean?". Here is Dennis Rainwater and Deb's outline.
--- a compilation from Dennis Rainwater and Deb "gimpymommi"
LOS = stands for Line Of Sponsorship.
Line Of Sponsorship - The Way People Are Signed Up, According To
Amway's Records. Often, People In AMOs (Amway Motivational
Organization) Are Following A LOA (Line Of Affiliation) Which Is The
Kingpin They Are Encouraged To Follow; And These Can Change On A Whim.
ADA = stands for Amway Distributors' Association -- conceived as an
interface agency to serve between the corporation and the distributor
force.
IBOA = has replaced the ADA since they ceased to be "Amway" and no
longer have "Distributors"
Association"
PV = stands for Point Value. It is a point system that helps stabilize
(or at least it used to) the value of product flow as it moves through
your organization. It was intended to provide a simple means of coping
with the effects of inflation. Each product has its own Point Value,
and adding up the flow of all that PV through your group is what
determines what percentage you are paid at, and when you qualify as a
Platinum.
PV = Product Volume - It's How Amway "Counts"; And How Bonus Levels Are
Attained. 100 Pv Per Month Gets You A 3% Bonus; 300 Pv Gets 6%, Etc
There's Also BV - Business Volume. The Bonus Check Is Based On A
Percentage Of The IBO's BV. Kind Of Confusing, But It's Always Been
Done That Way.
>>What is the hierarch of the titles?
1) Platinum: 7500 PV (or above) a month for six months of the year.
2) Founders Platinum: 7500 PV (or above) for all 12 months of the year.
(I believe these might be modified somewhat (further complicated) by
some other point system that was just coming into being when I left
which I have never understood..
3) Ruby: 15,000 PV in one month.
4) Saphire: Two "Legs" (lines of distributors downline from you) who are
Platinums or above. (Again, I think I might recall some further
complicating criteria coming into play for this "Pin" -- but I can't
recall what any of it might be.)
5) Emerald: Three Legs who are Platinums or above.
6) Diamond: Six Legs at Platinum or above.
7) EDC ("Executive Diamond Council"): Nine Legs at Platinum or above.
8) Double Diamond: 12 Legs at Platinum...
9) Triple Diamond: 15 Legs...
10) Crown: 18 legs...
12) Crown Ambassador: 20 legs... (CA) IS AS HIGH AS YOU CAN GET.
MO = Motivational Organizations.
AMO = stands for Amway Motivational Organization. These are the
parasitic companies that many of the KingPins have developed to make
their real money. Amway was the goose that laid the golden egg.
AMO = "Amway Motivational Organization" And There Are Many Of These,
All Selling Amway Products. (Although Their Primary Focus Is To Sell
Their "Training" Tapes, Books, And Functions) They Are The Source Of The
Hype/Lies/Assorted Distortions That Gives Amway A Bad Name. Back In
1983,
An Amway Corporate Man Named Ed Postma, Wrote The Famous "Postma Memo"
- Basically Explaining How The AMO Kingpins Were Blackmailing The
Corporation And Harming The Distributors. Sadly, He Underestimated How
Long Something That Evil Could Continue; And Predicted The AMOs Would
Collapse. It Breaks My Heart To Admit This Because I Truly Believe That
Rich And Jay Are Good People - But They Allowed, And Even Supported,
These AMOs In The Interest Of Growing Their Business. And In That
Light, I Hope You Can Grasp How Awful T.E.A.M. Had To Be To Get
Terminated??
Originally, There *Was* One AMO - Yager's. But As Others Saw How He
Was Making Money On The Side - In Most Cases, Waaaay More Money, They
Broke Off And Formed Their Own AMOs. Greed Seldom Offers "Loyalty".
Now There Are So Many AMOs, That It's Almost Impossible To Count Them
All.
"Kingpins" are those distributors who have built large enough
organizations to wield enough power and influence to control the actions
and behaviors of large groups of people. All of the ones I know of are
at least Diamond. Most of them have been around for many years. Dexter
Yager started his business in the 60s. Bill Britt began in 1970, I
believe. Ron Puryear (head of World Wide Dream Builders -- sometimes
referred to as World Wide Group) began in the early 70s.
Kingpin isn't an official title -- it's actually kind of a slur. So
I'd guess who qualifies and who doesn't depends to some degree on which
starry-eyed Dreamer you ask. But I'd hazard a guess that there are
somewhere between and dozen and two dozen real Kingpins in North
America. How does one become one? Pretty much the same way one becomes
the Don of a crime family: Power and Control.
Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel -- the two men who began "American
Way" company which changed into "Amway" eventually.
Their Distributor Organization Is Called Ja-Ri (Jay-Rich) Ja-Ri
Besides Rich And Jay And My Grandfather; Bill Halliday Was The Lawyer
Who Set Up The Corporation; Joe Victor; Fred Hansen; Eleanor Tietsma;
Jere Dutt; Frank Delisle; Someone Named Krause...And I Couple Of Others
Whose Names I've Forgotten
Rich and Jay were originally Nutrilite distributors -- and as I
understand it, they left that company to begin their own company.
Ironic since Amway/Quixtar now tries hard to prevent their distributors
from doing exactly the same thing when they get into similar
disputes/difficulti
Part of what we were taught to tell people was that Nutrilite was
experiencing hard times, and Rich and Jay formed Amway to give their
distributors some future security -- but I honestly believe that they
decided they could get wealthier by running the whole show themselves.
Which really angers me in view of their prohibitions on other folks
having the same rights...
It Seems Nutrilite Was Changing The Rules And Compensation For Their
Distributors - So Rich And Jay Decided To Break Away And Form Their Own
Company With A Soap Product Called *Frisk* (Later Known As L.O.C.). The
Articles Of Incorporation Were Drawn Up In 1959; And One Of The Main
Elements Of The Business Was A Governing Board (ADA: Amway Distributors
Ass'n) Made Up Of Distributors Who Would Keep The Best Interests Of The
"Little Guy" First And Foremost. Needless To Say, That Became The Pawn
Of The Kingpins Over Time.
When Rich And Jay Formed American Way(Amway), They Had Over 5,000
Distributors.
