A: Never saw, read, or even heard of "Sticks," so any allusion is
coincidental.
2: The proper abbreviation is "sf" or "SF". SciFi, sci-fi, or other
versions are generally shunned unless applying to grade-B monster
movies that used to air at 2 am on weekends when the local station had
nothing else to show. (Which tells you how much the SciFi channel
knows about the field!)
III: Sometimes I just use allusions to non-sf TV and movies! ;-)
Last: You have no idea how many of my posts contain allusions to my own
stories that aren't published yet! (I have one series of scripts that
takes place about 25,000 years in the future, when everything we now
know is dust. I used the name "Planet Geneva" as an ancient name
meaning a neutral place, but other than that, had to avoid *all*
references to anything in sf, movies, TV, music, or pop culture.
Avoiding all allusions is one of the hardest things I've ever done as a
writer.)
