SHD, the name change to Amway was released some time ago. If your
daughter and son-in-law are just getting the news now I would say there
up-line is trying to hide some very important information.(lying)

In 1999Amway created a sister company called Quixtar which is only in
North America. There is a lot of chit-chat-gossip as to why Amway
created Quixtar. (we may never know the real truth)

The most popular theme is the Amway name had such a bad reputation in
North America that Quixtar was formed and the Amway legal team said
because of how Quixtar was legally created the IBOs could say it was not
Amway.

I have also heard that Quixtar contracted with Amway to be their
Internet interface and Quixtar was on of the Many, Many companies doing
business with Amway. (Quixtar and Amway are completely separate
companies.)

In June 2007 Amway told the IBOAI board that the Quixtar name was going
to be changed to Amway.

Monday, August 6,2007 IBOAI unanimously voted against the change.

Tuesday, August 7, 2007 Amway said they were going ahead with the
change.

Thursday, August 9, 2007 a group of top IBO's know as the
"TEAM" asked to be released from Amway taking there LOS with
them. Amway said "No". "TEAM" IBO leaders filed a
class action law suit against Amway claiming Amway is a Pyramid
scheme"

Wednesday, August 15, 2007(?) all the Top IBO's were sent a notice
from Amway stating if they wish to continue to be apart of Amway them
must sign and return the letter. If they did not they would be
terminated as an Amway IBO.

As a note: a while ago an Amway IBO tried to leave Amway and take his
LOS. Amway said "NO". The IBO sued Amway and lost. The Texas
court decision ruled "Amway owns the LOS not the IBO"

The legal firm representing "TEAM" has a web site
www.freetheibo.com <http://www.freetheibo.com/>

Yes the site is extremely bias so you must reason through the
information, but it is a good start. I like the timeline of events
http://www.freetheibo.com/timelineofevents.html
<http://www.freetheibo.com/timelineofevents.html>

BTW, I have read the new Amway brochure/leaflet. I will say Amway did
a very good job. It's very nicely done.
