Several of the opportunities that are advertised in local papers are
placed there BY THE MANUFACTURERS of the machines. In other words,
they entice you into buying their machines, which automatically
requires that you buy any replacement parts or supplies from them.
That's not a bad thing; it's simply the way it is.
BUT...
On the flip side, they have no obligation to you, as far as the
"opportunity" they advertised goes. In other words, whether you swim
or sink is TOTALLY on you and not on them. They get their money when
you purchase their machines. Why should they care about you beyond that?
If your machines are broken, vandalized or stolen, YOU have to pay for
repairing or replacing them. YOU have to put in the time and effort
to place them, or YOU have to pay someone to do it for you. Then the
places that accept your machines can ask you to remove them for ANY
reason. There is no security in vending machines.
And I haven't even brought up the gas and the wear & tear on your
vehicle or the cost of stocking your machines with nuts or candies or
whatever.
And of course, I didn't bring up the temptation of having all that
candy around the house. ;-)
I did a vending machine business for a couple of years. A portion of
my proceeds went to a charity. Fortunately, even after the donations,
I broke even on the business. But it wasn't easy, at all.
