Excellent response, PW!
Back when I was a kid, in the 50's, door-to-door sales was a perfectly
acceptable means of marketing. The milkman came to the house, and I
remember the BEST potato chips and pretzels being delivered...
course the Fuller Brush man stopped by, as well as many others whose
names I forget. I earned my first 3-speed bicycle by selling greeting
cards door-to-door.
Some of the original door-to-door companies have changed their
marketing to fit with today's "style"; and have added a retail element
to their businesses. Tupperware is the one I have noticed - I bought
some items at Target a while back.
There ARE a few MLMs who simply sell their products without abusing
their distributors.
