When my then-gf dragged me to an open meeting, I had already researched
Quackstar on the web and knew the issues. I think I had already seen
the Dateline article. Even with that background and recognizing their
fallacies (drat! I always want to type "phallacies" after a discussion
about misleading literary symbolism with a college professor), and
immediately catching some of their BS lines like, "We're not a pyramid
because THEY are," when all the people started lining up and going up
to the podium saying what they had made and how well they were doing, I
was tempted to sign up.
